How to enable Pop-ups for TestOut/LabSim

To run the labs within our courses, your web browser must allow pop-up windows from cdn.testout.com. Most browsers offer a straightforward way to allow pop-ups from a specific site. When you attempt to start a lab within the course, you should see instructions that walk you through the process of allowing pop-ups from cdn.testout.com. If you wish to disable or customize the pop-up blocker before starting a lab, see the instructions below:
 
 
INSTRUCTIONS
Microsoft Internet Explorer

To allow pop-ups from the TestOut course website:
  1. In the upper-right corner of the Internet Explorer window, click the button.
  2. Select Internet options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Under Pop-up Blocker, click the Settings button.
  5. In the Address of website to allow box, type cdn.testout.com and click Add.
  6. Click Close to close the Pop-up Blocker Settings window.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
Google Chrome

To allow pop-ups from the TestOut course website:

In the upper-right corner of the Chrome window, click the menu.
  1. Select Settings.
  2. Click Show advanced settings.
  3. Under Privacy, click the Content settings button.
  4. Under Pop-ups, click Manage exceptions.
  5. For the new hostname pattern, type [*.]cdn.testout.com.
  6. Make sure Allow is selected in the drop-down list and click Done.
  7. Click Done again to close the Pop-up exceptions window.
  8. Click Done to close the Content settings window.
Microsoft Edge

Edge does not allow you to manage a list of allowable sites directly. However, like IE and Chrome, you can allow specific sites after receiving a pop-up blocker message. In this case, click Always allow for cdn.testout.com.
Mozilla Firefox

To allow pop-ups from the TestOut course website:
  1. In the upper-right corner of the Mozilla Firefox window, click the button.
  2. Select Options.
  3. In the left sidebar, select Content.
  4. Under Pop-ups, make sure the Block pop-up windows checkbox is selected, then click Exceptions.
  5. In the Allowed Sites - Pop-ups window, in the Address of website box, type cdn.testout.com and click Allow.
  6. Click Save Changes to close the Allowed Sites - Pop-ups window.
Apple Safari

Safari does not provide a feature for selective pop-up blocking. To temporarily allow all pop-ups from the TestOut course website:
  1. From the Safari menu, select Preferences.
  2. In the Security window, select the Security tab.
  3. Under Web content, deselect Block pop-up windows.
  4. Close the Security window.

Note: In some cases it may be necessary to restart the browser after making these changes in order to start a lab simulation successfully.
